ABOUT CITRUS SPRINGS
The Citrus Springs area is enormous and still largely undeveloped with tall pine trees and wooded lots. There are sections with more dense development for a neighborhood feel or you can buy in sparsely developed sections for greater privacy. In almost any direction you look in Citrus Springs, you will see unspoiled wooded areas and all that nature has to offer. Local wildlife includes eagles, hawks, owls, squirrels, tortoises, foxes, and raccoons.
A Citrus Springs home is perfect as a starter home for new families or for retired couples looking to downsize and return to a slower, less hectic pace. Citrus Springs contains some of the best golf courses in Florida.
If you’re interested in becoming a golfer, Citrus Springs Golf and Country Club or Black Diamond are ideal for beginners. From there, you can move on to many other courses in the area.
To the east of Citrus Springs, you’ll find Inverness and the Tsala Apopka Lake Chain. The lakes in Inverness offer excellent bass fishing and pleasure boat recreation, including airboat tours. To the west is the Gulf of Mexico via Kings Bay, another boating and recreation hotspot with thrilling saltwater sport fishing out in the gulf. Situated in the northern part of Citrus County, Citrus Springs is close to Dunnellon, a quaint small town featuring Rainbow Springs and the Rainbow River. The larger metropolitan area of Ocala, Florida can also be found nearby.
